FCDS Team Earns Third Place in State Math Contest
Congratulations to the eighth and ninth grade students who competed in the State Math Contest at Lenoir-Rhyne University. The FCDS team earned third place in the Level 2 (Geometry) contest! The team was Ramzi Badreddine, Aarnav Gorantla, Zoya Khattak, Praneel Silwal, Caitlyn Tan, and Nora Whalen.
About 200 students from 12 regional schools competed. Students also toured the college campus, enjoyed a lunch buffet, checked out the bookstore, and attended the awards ceremony.
Math Competitions Advisor Charlotte Phillips thanked students for their hard work and dedication. “It's a wonderful way to build upon and extend mathematical problem solving knowledge. I am so proud of them all for their efforts and it was great seeing them honored for their strong work.”
