The Williams Library Discovery Center boasts two libraries to meet the research, independent and self-selected needs of the entire FCDS community. Our libraries, the Smith Library for Lower School and the Clay Library for Middle and Upper School, have a combined collection of over 40,000 print volumes, an eBook collection with over 300 titles, and access to over 30 online databases and journals. The Williams Library Discovery Center encourages and promotes the development of research and information skills while promoting and encouraging our 21st-century learners.

Our Resources

  • Access to over 40,000 volumes including magazines, periodicals, and DVDs
  • On and off-campus access to hundreds of titles through eBook subscription services (Gale, OverDrive, and Salem)
  • Periodical and scholarly journal articles accessible through EBSCO, JSTOR, SIRS Discoverer, and NewsBank
  • Nonfiction research databases such as CultureGrams, Literature Resource Center Plus and Biography Reference Center
  • Online streaming resources through Classroom Video on Demand, BrainPOP and Discovery Education
  • Manuals and tutorials available to help with creating bibliographies and supporting research projects across grade levels
So whether our students are researching a science project, exploring Greek mythology, or just discovering Harry Potter, we’re happy to provide them with everything they need to learn, grow, and prepare for what’s ahead.
