  • Lower School Art Educator - Fall 2021 - Part-time

    Forsyth Country Day School is seeking a Lower School Arts Educator for the 2021-2022 school year. This could become a full-time position, subject to grade-level enrollment.

    The ideal candidate will be a talented, dynamic, and empathetic arts instructor with experience teaching a range of mediums, student ages, and learning styles. The position will require collaborating with classroom teachers and participating as an enthusiastic member of our Lower School team. 

    The ideal candidate will be asked to develop and implement Lower School Art courses. The candidate should possess a thorough understanding of the elements and principles of art and design - and strive to develop student understanding of these ideas and strategies.

    Requirements:
    • Prepare and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and units of study for children in grades preschool 4s-4th grade which are consistent with grade level curriculum.
    • Expand student fine arts experiences through course options such as, but not limited to, sculpture, digital art, drawing, painting, ceramics, fiber arts, mixed media and photography.
    • Differentiate instruction as needed to meet the needs of all students.
    • Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop cross-departmental units of instruction that foster creativity, deep thinking, and self-expression.
    • Use appropriate classroom management techniques in order to provide a supportive and caring learning environment where students feel safe to create, share perspectives and take artistic risk.
    • Maintain an organized and inclusive classroom environment which will be conducive to learning.
    • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues on a regular basis and share information relative to student progress.
    • Enhance one’s own knowledge, understanding, and skill through ongoing professional development.
    This position requires a BFA or BA with a concentration in the Arts or Art Education. An MFA or MA in Art Education or Education is preferable. Significant interest and experience teaching should be evidenced in a resume or CV. Email resume including experience to Niki Vogler.
  • Preschool Lead Teacher - Fall 2021

    12 month full-time position, M-F 7:45 a.m.-3:45 p.m.

    Primary responsibilities:
    • Model and instill a love of learning
    • Provide a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children’s learning and growth
    • Observe, evaluate and monitor student performance in all areas of development: social-emotional, language and literacy, logical-mathematical, and physical
    • Design and implement appropriate instruction in line with the school standards, curriculum, and student needs
    • Create a positive educational climate for students to learn in an atmosphere of respect and rapport
    • Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding, and respect
    • Manage student behavior in the classroom by utilizing effective classroom management strategies
    Qualifications : 
    • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Education, or a related field 
    • At least three years of teaching in an early childhood environment
    • Excellent understanding of the social, emotional, and academic needs of preschool-age children and how to provide for them
    • The ability to differentiate a rich, varied, and developmentally appropriate curriculum based on best practices and current research
    • A commitment to work collaboratively and innovatively with colleagues
    • Ability to communicate respectfully, proactively, and honestly both verbally and in writing with parents, colleagues, and administrators regarding curriculum, students, and child development issues

  • Preschool Assistant Teacher - Fall 2021

    12 month part-time position, M-F 7:45 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
     
     Primary responsibilities:
    • Model and instill a love of learning

    • Support student performance in all areas of development: social-emotional, language and literacy, logical-mathematical, and physical
    • Support appropriate instruction in line with the school standards, curriculum, and student needs

    • Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding, and respect
    • Manage student behavior in the classroom by utilizing effective classroom management strategies

    • Prefer a bachelor’s degree; require early childhood credentials
    • At least two years of teaching in an early childhood environment
    • Excellent understanding of the social, emotional, and academic needs of preschool-age children and how to provide for them

    • Ability to communicate respectfully, proactively, and honestly both verbally and in writing

  • Preschool After School Activities Program Teachers

    Preschool (ages 2-5) After School Activities Program Teacher – 10 and 12 month part-time positions. Email resume including experience to Niki Vogler.

  • Bus Drivers

    Part-time Activity Bus Drivers
    Part-time bus drivers for athletic trips - afternoons and some evening hours. REQUIREMENTS: CDL with P&S endorsements, clean drug screen, clean background checks, health exam.     Substitute Route Bus Drivers

    *COVID considerations - Buses are sanitized after every shift. Drivers and students are required to wear masks. Students will be seated spaced out from students from other families to maintain adequate social distancing. Windows will be open for ventilation.
