  • Upper School Ceramics Educator - Part-time

    Forsyth Country Day School is seeking an Upper School Arts Educator to teach two sections of ceramics for the 2021-2022 school year. 

    This position requires a BFA or BA with a concentration in the Arts or Art Education. An MFA or MA in Art Education or Education is preferable. Significant interest and experience teaching should be evidenced in a resume or CV. Please email resume to Niki Vogler.
  • Academic Coach - Johnson Academic Center

    Part-time, 10-month position

    • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree preferred
    • Experience working with working with students with diagnosed learning disabilities, ADHD, or other learning differences, and/or dyslexic students strongly preferred
    • Assist students who are having difficulty preparing and turning in assignments
    • Guide students who have organizational and management issues with their individual learning
    • Facilitate the use of a daily planner and reinforce the need for daily planning in achieving success
    • Review class notes and check for accuracy and preparedness for class 
    • Teach the use of a calendar for planning long range assignments
    • Encourage students to advocate for themselves
    • Make use of each session for study, review, or to begin homework if planning and goal work are complete
    • Incorporate study skills, which work for the individual student in order for the student to become an independent learner
    • Maintains weekly documentation to check progress and maintains weekly communication with parents and teachers with regard to student progress through email using given template or OnCampus Official Note

  • Subject Tutor - Johnson Academic Center

    Part-time, 10-month position

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred or significant coursework in subject area; master’s degree in education or subject area preferred
    • Certification or training in executive functioning skills and instruction strongly preferred
    • Experience working with students with learning differences strongly preferred
    • Consults with classroom teachers to learn the specific needs of the course and the student before and during tutoring
    • Emails teachers weekly to learn about individual progress of students
    • Completes a weekly update on each student’s progress during tutoring and maintains communication with parents and teachers with regard to student progress through weekly e-mail or OnCampus Official Note
    • Maintains a log of communication on each individual student

  • After School and Enrichment Coordinator

    12 month position, M-F 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

    • Minimum Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
    • Teaching or Coaching Experience Preferred.
    • Proficient with Google products - Gmail, Calendar, Google Docs, Google Sheets.
    • Requires excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
    After School Responsibilities
    • Search for and interview position-appropriate candidates.
    • Lead orientation for new teachers.
    • Determine staffing needs based on classroom size.
    • Schedule teachers according to strengths, availability, and experience.
    • Assign substitutes for teachers who are absent, and fill in when needed.
    • Assist at carpool radioing for students to be dismissed.
    • Manage and respond to teacher, parent, and student concerns and needs.
    • Assist teachers with behavior complications.
    • Budget for and purchase snacks and necessary materials.
    • Supervise classroom teachers and activities.
    • Make sure the work areas for teachers remain organized
    • Keep consistent documentation.
    • Manage disciplinary situations with teachers under your direction.

    Enrichment Responsibilities
    • Work with Human Resources to hire on-campus instructors and outside vendors.
    • Create a pay scale for on-campus instructors and establish a price per student per week with the outside vendors.
    • Schedule age-group programs for each semester and for TBD out-of-school days.
    • Create a price point for each program.
    • Be familiar with the ACTIVE Works System.
    • Work with the Business Office to run financial reports and create pay-roll for employees
    • Work with the Director of Communication to market and advertise all enrichment programming including how families are to register for sessions.
    • Inform families, teachers, and Divisional Directors of all program start and end dates, and any changes to a program schedule.

  • Bus Drivers

    Part-time Activity Bus Drivers
    Part-time bus drivers for athletic trips - afternoons and some evening hours. REQUIREMENTS: CDL with P&S endorsements, clean drug screen, clean background checks, health exam. Minimum one year of bus driving experience required, two or more years preferred. Apply by email or contact James at 336-946-1680.

    Substitute Route Bus Drivers

    *COVID considerations - Buses are sanitized after every shift. Drivers and students are required to wear masks. Students will be seated spaced out from students from other families to maintain adequate social distancing. Windows will be open for ventilation.
