TIAA-CREF Retirement Annuity Plan
Who is Eligible?
All full-time employees are eligible to participate in the FCDS Retirement (Internal Revenue Code Section 403(b)) Plan with Teachers Insurance Annuity Association (TIAA)/College Retirement Equities Fund (CREF) on a voluntary basis on or after the first day of the month following completion of one year (1,000 hours) of service at the school without a break in service. Hours of service with an eligible employer (any nonprofit educational organization during the 12-month period immediately preceding the employee's date of employment with FCDS) will be counted for purposes of the eligibility requirements.
The TIAA Plan
FCDS will match the voluntary contributions of employees based on the salary specified in the current employment contract and the following scale:
- Six percent (6%) for employees with up to 20 years of service
- Seven percent (7%) for employees with over 20 years of service
TIAA/CREF Supplemental Retirement Annuities Plan
FCDS offers a Supplemental Retirement Annuities (SRA) Plan (Internal Revenue Code Section 403(b)) on a voluntary basis to all employees through TIAA/CREF. FCDS also allows employee participation in other 403(b) plans. Details are available from Human Resources upon request.
