  • Our Mission

The Forsyth Country Day School Parents' Association supports the school's academic, development, fine arts, performing arts, social, and athletic objectives by encouraging volunteerism, raising and disbursing funds, promoting communication within the school, and conducting events that increase school spirit and camaraderie.
  • Our History

Since 1982, the Parents' Association at Forsyth Country Day School has made significant contributions to the school's programs and facilities. Every parent or guardian at FCDS is a member of the Parents' Association. Our success as a Parents' Association is dependent on parent volunteers who give unselfishly of their time and energy in order to make our school great. The Parents' Association Board is comprised of six elected officers (President, Lower School Vice-President, Middle School Vice-President, Upper School Vice-President, Executive Secretary, and Treasurer), 15 Parent Representatives from each grade (Junior Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12), and three division secretaries (one from the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools). This Board has voting authority for any Parents' Association decisions.

All parents are invited to attend Parents' Association business meetings which are conducted periodically throughout the school year.
  • "Fun" Raisers

The third important goal of the Parents' Association is to plan and implement various fun raising events throughout the school year that will increase school spirit and camaraderie. Parents, grandparents, alumni, students, prospective new parents/students, and the community are often included in these events. Past fun raising events have included:

    • Wonderful Wednesdays
    • All School Tailgate
    • Faculty & Staff Appreciation Luncheon
    • Family Carnival
    • Sports Recognition Events
    • Grandparents' Day Breakfast
    • Auction
    • Fine Arts Program
    • Guest Speakers
    • Storytelling Festival

  • All School Tailgate

All returning and new families are invited to the All School Tailgate that is conducted after the beginning of the school year. A delicious dinner and entertainment will be provided. This event is a “fun” raising event for the FCDS community!
  • Auction

The Auction is a wonderful opportunity for parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends to gather for an evening of fun that helps makes Forsyth Country Day School stronger. The Auction attracts numerous parent volunteers who build community and camaraderie while raising funds to help finance important projects and initiatives at the school. The Auction is held every other year and the next Auction will be March 3, 2018.
  • Book Fair

This book fair offers both students and parents the opportunity to purchase current bestsellers and award-winning books. All proceeds are used to support special programs of the Williams Library Discovery Center.
  • Do or Dye

This Upper School event is held in the spring prior to the start of exams. The event consists of a fun color run on the track with refreshments provided at the end.
  • Faculty & Staff Appreciation Luncheon

This committee provides a luncheon to honor all teachers, administrators, and staff members at FCDS.
  • Graduation

All graduation events such as the senior picnic, banquet, and the baccalaureate reception are coordinated through this committee.
  • Grandparents’ Day

This Lower School committee plans a delicious breakfast and morning of music provided by MS Orchestra and Chorus students to honor LS students’ grandparents and special family friends.
  • MS End of Year Celebration

This committee will work with Middle School faculty and administration to plan and execute a fun end of year celebration for all MS students to be held on campus.  The celebration is held on the day BEFORE the last day of school each year.
  • MS Student Social

This committee will be responsible for planning and executing 2-3 social activities for Middle School students throughout the school year.
  • Music on the Lawn

This event is held in August to kick off the school year and again in the spring to celebrate the end of school.  The entire school community is invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy an evening of live music, fun and games, and purchase delicious food from local food trucks.
  • New Family Connections

This committee is responsible for welcoming new families into our school community and educating on the PA to encourage their participation. The committee will also assign buddy families to new families who will serve as a point of contact throughout the year to answer questions and invite new families to PA events.
  • Parent Social

Each division will host a social at a local restaurant for all parents from that division. The committee is responsible for selecting the venue, planning the event, and working with the Administration to publicize it to all families in the division. The socials are held at various times throughout the year and each division will have one social per year.
  • US and MS Day of Service

A coordinator for both Upper School and Middle School with work with division faculty and administration to plan Days of Service, which are held at various off-campus locations. This gives students the opportunity to volunteer with local non-profits and give back to our community.
  • Wonderful Wednesday

Each grade (EAP through 12) has a Coordinator who helps coordinate a monthly feast for each division (LS, MS, and US) designed to thank the faculty for the amazing job they do. Parents from each grade host a week and make treats to feed the faculty. Each grade hosts two times per year.
