Acclaimed College Counseling

Planning ahead is the best way to ensure a successful college admissions process. We're here to help.
We’ve been helping students navigate the college admissions process for years. Preparation for college is a significant component of a student’s experience here.

Our goal is to provide each student with the guidance, encouragement, and information necessary to optimize future educational opportunities.

Working with their college counselor, students seek to assess themselves realistically, to explore options, to recognize their abilities, and to develop the confidence and independence of thought to convey these personal discoveries to colleges in a compelling way.

Our college counselors will truly know your child and your family. They are committed to making the college experience as smooth and exciting as possible.

Extensive One-to-One Counseling

At every stage, our college counselors are attentive to each student’s potential and offer extensive one-on-one counseling to help students:

  • Research and create a balanced college list
  • Plan for the SAT and/or ACT
  • Tour colleges
  • Ask for letters of recommendation
  • Write essays
  • Find scholarships
  • Determine when to apply
  • Complete and file applications
  • Assist with resumes and interviews

Plus, we keep families updated, informed, and empowered every step of the way.

The Benefits of FCDS College Counseling

Each fall, typically 65 colleges and universities come to Forsyth Country Day School to speak with our Upper School students. These visits provide an intimate way for students to learn more and make connections with admission officers.

Our experienced college counselors work hard to maintain positive relationships with admission officers throughout the country. They frequently visit campuses and attend conferences to stay up to date. It is their knowledge and relationships that help make our students’ college admission experience more successful.

We look forward to partnering with you during this exciting time in your child’s life.

What Our Parents Say

“What makes the college counselors so special is that during the stressful application process, they take care of all of the tough parts and we get to participate in the fun parts. The college counselors really get to know our children so that by senior year, they are armed and ready! Without a doubt, our college counseling program is worth the price of admission!”  – Jennifer, Parent ’17
