Born and raised in Charlotte, N.C, Jayme earned her bachelor’s degree in specific learning disabilities and her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Appalachian State University. She worked as a special education teacher in a resource setting in elementary and middle schools and as a special education teacher in a self-contained classroom for students with autism. She also taught at Triad Academy and completed AOGPE Associate-level coursework. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA and is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of North Carolina. Jayme’s husband Andrew attended FCDS for lower and middle school. They have three children who all attend FCDS: Jackson (FCDS ’30), Nora (FCDS ’33), and Adam (FCDS ’35).
Our faculty knows our students’ names, supports them, encourages them, and is always pulling for them. In this way, our staff continually draws out the best in each and every child, showing them how to study, advocate for themselves, and develop a solid work ethic.

Teachers, coaches, and counselors are all invested in making sure each child is valued, understood, and challenged at the right time. This individual approach – along with small class sizes – allows your child to flourish and be prepared for what's ahead.
