FCDS Uniform

 Dear FCDS families,

After thoughtful conversations with parents, students, alumni, faculty, staff, Board members, and the Parents’ Association, we are excited to share that FCDS will transition to school uniforms beginning in Fall 2027.

We began with focused discussions to understand whether this change aligned with our community’s values. The positive feedback helped guide our decision and reinforced our shared commitment to a strong, connected school community.

We recognize that change can bring uncertainty. At the heart of this decision is a simple goal: for students to showcase who they are by placing greater emphasis on how they learn, create, and treat one another while strengthening a sense of belonging from preschool through grade 12.

We’ll keep families informed throughout the process, sharing uniform options, purchasing details, and a clear implementation timeline in the coming months. Comfort, style, and affordability will remain priorities, and students will help shape the final look through a student-led vote.

Thank you for your partnership and thoughtful feedback as we shape this next chapter together.

Warmly,

Valorie Baker
Head of School
