Recap:

Our Fury Girls put everything they had into today’s match against Greensboro Day School, but fell to the more experienced Greensboro Day. Co-captain Maddie Smith played a thoughtful and steady game, trying to find a weakness on the other side of the court with a variety of power and soft placements at #1 singles. Co-captain Halle Kincaid hit some good forehands and serves but just came up short on the ad points. Mary Brooks Hall showed off an improved serve while #4 Ashley Parsons hustled to return every possible ball against a very consistent opponent. Fury #5 Erika Choopani showed that she has the power to handle any opponent but needs to get more experienced with match play. #6 Yu Otaki had most games go to deuce but couldn’t come up with the Ad points.
The doubles matches were heated on all courts. Our girls showed improvement in communicating and they reduced the basic mistakes. Our next match will be against Gaston Christian on Thursday.
