Furies Play Well in Win at Calvary Day School

Calvary Day School Recap 4 19 2022
The season finally feels real, and we had a good win today over Calvary Day School. Today, our players played well and controlled their courts from start to finish. The match of the day was on court #1 as Kendrick Lash and Owen Calvert fought toe to toe for each point. These players used contrasting styles of playing with Kendrick depending on power, penetrating the court with big forehands and even bigger serves while Owen used loopy forehands and wide placements to counter Kendricks's power game. For an hour and a half these young men fought like this until Kendrick walked away with the 6-3, 6-1 win.
The rest of our players had much easier matches and all of them controlled their courts from start to finish. Alan Trbonja was finished his match first with a 6-0, 6-0 win at #4. Ben Williams was next off with the same score. Hank Williams and Max Trbonja also ended their matches with perfect scores while a bad serving game led to Lucas Rocha Lima scoring a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
In doubles, Kendrick and Hank won 8-2 on court #1. Ben teamed with Dylan Gendrachi on court #2 for an 8-0 victory while Nathan Gao teamed up with Alan and we won 8-2.
