Today’s match featured the best efforts from every player on our team. Caldwell came into this match prepared to hit twenty balls on every point and our team played extremely well to win on 5 singles courts. Julia Kincaid and Louise King were the first Furies to score points in matches they controlled from start to finish. Erika Choopani continued her path of finding her heavy forehand and backhand by combining hard and soft topspin shots to out play her opponent at #4 singles. Brynna Myers dropped her first set, then took control of her match with improved consistency on her forehand groundstrokes and a strong determination to win. Mary Brooks Hall finished next as she dropped a hard-fought match in a third set tie-breaker 11-9. Sunna Maass scored the final Fury point against a player who won the All-State Award last year. Sunna used every weapon in her repertoire as she wore down one of the best players in our conference.
Thanks, girls, for your out-standing efforts on all courts. This was truly a team victory.
