FCDS Orchestra Wins Instrumental Festival Adjudicator Award

Of the 13 instrumental performing ensembles that made up this year’s Atlanta Southern Star Performance Adjudication, the Forsyth Country Day String Orchestra was awarded the Instrumental Festival Adjudicator Award. This trophy is given to the instrumental performing group with the top overall score and is the highest award any ensemble can earn at the festival.

This impressive group also earned a superior rating at the adjudication. It is the twelfth year in a row that the FCDS Orchestra has earned the highest rating at adjudications across the country.

Orchestra Director Mr. Aaron Craven says, “The Upper School Orchestra trip to Atlanta was an amazing success! I am very proud of the students for their hard work and dedication.“

After the adjudication, the students enjoyed Atlanta and went to Centennial Olympic Park, the Fox Theater, and the Broadway tour of A Gentlemen’s Guide to Love and Murder.

Special thanks to the chaperones that made this trip a great success: Ms. Rebecca McKee, Dr. David Pollock, and Ms. Kimberly Poor.

Congratulations to our String Orchestra students and Mr. Craven for this is a great honor!
