FCDS Middle School Team Takes First Place in Odyssey of the Mind Competition

The Forsyth Country Day Middle School team
placed first in the division and will be advancing to the State Championship in three weeks at Charlotte.

The team included:
Emmie Cawood, 8th grader
Landon Greenwood, 7th grader
Kaeden Palmer, 7th grader
Ava Scherer, 5th grader
Sophie Scherer, 8th grader

They scored a perfect 200 out of 200 on the “long term” problem as well as a perfect 50 out of 50 on the “long term style”. FCDS also beat out a very tough veteran Hanes Middle School team which has competed for the past four years together as a group. The FCDS team also scored the second highest on “spontaneous” – a 98 out of 100.

Additionally, the FCDS team received many nice compliments from the judges and participants at the tournament.

Thanks to FCDS parent Brian Scherer for coaching this team.

These students all very worked hard and their efforts showed. Congratulations!
