Four FCDS Singers Selected for North Carolina Honors Chorus

The North Carolina Music Educators’ Association Honors Chorus showcases the finest student choral performers in the state. Nearly 1,200 students auditioned for 160 chairs in the High School Honors Chorus. More than 800 students auditioned for 139 chairs in the Middle School Honors Chorus.
 
Seniors Logan Welborn and Christopher Atala were ranked among the top students in their respective vocal sections. Logan was ranked the number one alto 1 in the state, and Christopher was ranked the ninth bass 2. Eighth-grader Mira Fitch was ranked the twelfth alto 1, and seventh-grader John Speas was ranked the thirteenth tenor.
 
Both the North Carolina High School Honors Chorus and the Middle School Honors Chorus will perform at the Stevens Center on Sunday, November 12 at 3 p.m. The performance is free and open to the public.
