Rev. Giorgio Hyatt – Senior Pastor, Redeemer Presbyterian Church

After graduating from Davidson College with a degree in English and Education, Rev. Hiatt ran an after-school tutoring program for middle and high school students in one of Charlotte's vulnerable neighborhoods. He received his master’s degree in divinity from Covenant Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, after which he co-planted Christ Central Church, a multi-ethnic church in Charlotte’s NoDa community. He and his family lived in Charlotte for 16 years prior to their move to Winston-Salem in 2012 to take up his position at Redeemer.

Giorgio and his wife, Amanda Carver Hiatt, have been married for 20 years and have two children at FCDS – Carver ’21 and Springer '24.

Doug Pierce – President and Co-Founder, Clinical Ink

After earning his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in philosophy from the University of Montana, Doug came to teach and coach at Forsyth Country Day School.

“He has a brilliant mind,” said English teacher Pattie Stoltz, who worked with him for many years. “I think the impact he had on the kids he taught was indelible. He truly inspired people with his tremendous wit, his tremendous humor, and his energy level.”

After leaving FCDS, Doug applied that mind to entrepreneurial ventures, co-founding Piermed, Inc., a medical documentation solutions company that provided a better way for doctors to collect data through a series of electronic forms. Under his leadership, the company grew from a small start-up to a successful national corporation.

In 2007, Doug co-founded Clinical Ink, which revolutionized clinical trials by streamlining the data capture process. Currently, he serves as the company’s President.

Doug and his wife Lezlie have two alumni children: Mackenzie Pierce Wartenburger ’05 and Taylor Pierce ’08.
