Fury Boys' Lacrosse Holds Cancer Awareness Night This Friday

This Friday, March 10, the FCDS boys’ varsity lacrosse team will hold its annual Cancer Awareness Night. This year, the team will highlight multiple myeloma – a cause very close to Coach Marc Winbush.

“Ironically, my father passed away from multiple myeloma on our Cancer Awareness Night in 2016,” Coach Winbush said. “This annual event is very special and I feel it’s an encouraging and healing time for our community.”

There will be luminaries lit around the fountain and field, special guests will attend, and the evening will recognize loved ones who are fighting cancer or have passed away from it.

“Fans are invited to wear a color of their choice that represents awareness of a particular cancer,” Coach Winbush said. “We also ask you to decorate a luminary (available at the gate entrance) in recognition or memory of your loved one.”

In memory of Coach Winbush’s dad, the team will wear burgundy in addition to Fury blue and white.
