Ten FCDS Middle School Orchestra Students Earn Chairs at the N.C. Jr. Western Regional Orchestra

More than 454 string students competed for fewer than 170 spots in the elite N.C. Jr. Western Regional Orchestra, and FCDS earned the most chairs of any school in the region. Congratulations to the 10 FCDS Middle School students who won chairs to the elite N.C. Jr. Western Regional Orchestra.

“This was by far one of the most competitive years,” said Orchestra Director Aaron Craven. It was especially hard for violinists, as more than 155 students scoring more than 167 points at the contest. “It’s a great honor to be selected to either orchestra, and I couldn’t be more proud of our students and our program.”
 
All winners will travel to Mallard Creek High School in Charlotte on Friday, April 4 to participate in a two-day festival that will culminate in a concert at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 5. Please congratulate these students when you see them!
