8 Orchestra Students Earn Chairs at N.C. American Strings Teachers Association All-State Orchestra
Freshmen Sonya McNatt and Katherine Li, Sophomore Phoebe Turvaville, Juniors Duncan Hart, Zach Moore, Nicholas Steward, Kael Zhang, and Senior David Craig auditioned for the program using a video submission process. They were selected from over 200 video submissions of the top string players in North Carolina.
These students will have the privilege of working with nationally renowned orchestra conductor Dr. Kirk Moss, who will serve as the clinician for the event. Students will also have masterclasses and sectionals conducted by the UNCSA String Faculty.
The North Carolina American Strings Teachers Association All-State Orchestra Festival will be held on October 19 and 20, 2018 here on the campus of FCDS with a concert in our auditorium beginning at 5:00 p.m. on October 20, 2018.
