Community Opportunities

Performing Ensembles

Orchestra
Playing a musical instrument is a satisfying life-long endeavor that will teach your child more than just musical ability. Playing an instrument involves concentration, coordination, discipline, dedication, and highly developed social skills. Our school has already welcomed many home school students into our band and orchestra programs. Home school students come to class with their designated groups and have the opportunity to participate in various performances throughout the year.

Chorus
The FCDS Middle and Upper School Choral programs are both established award winning ensembles. The choral ensembles perform regularly for school functions, choral festivals, and community events. Participating in a large choral group can give your child the opportunity to improve self-discipline and social skills. These groups also provide the opportunity to develop strong musicianship, a life-long appreciation of music, and strengthen their general music skills. Home school students come to class with their designated groups and have the opportunity to participate in various performances throughout the year.
