Furies Record Win #6 in Team Effort

Coach Harold Moore
The Williams Tennis Center was in full action yesterday as the Forsyth Country Day Middle School Team hosted their friends from The Summit School and our Varsity Team hosted the young men of Cary Christian Academy.

Today's match was about building confidence for the future while competing against a good team on every court. The Cary Christian Team came to play today and gave us a quality match on every court. Our big three, "Kendrick, Hank and Ben anchored the doubles and our play was good on all three courts. Alan Trbonja at #1 with Kendrick, Max Trbonja at #2 with Hank and Dylan Gendrachi at #3 allowed our team to explore some new combinations with good results.

Kendrick Lash slid into the number two position for the first time in his career at FCDS for today's match. Kendrick, who went undefeated last year in division II tennis, has worked hard to help elevate the games of his teammates throughout our lineup. Kendrick played well today as he worked on a list of things in preparation for future matches and won behind good serving and service returns.

Hank Williams moved up to  the #1 position today and played a well-rounded match with good consistency on his groundstrokes and solid serving. Ben Williams at #3 has continued his good play since returning from the Florence Tennis Association Tennis Tournament. Today, he raised his game as needed to control his match from start to finish.

Max Trbonja was a groundstroke machine today as he consistently nailed his forehands on point after point. Max's play today displayed lots of confidence against a very good opponent. Alan Trbonja at #5 played a good match. He worked through some goals against a player who brought his A-game to the court. Lucas Rocha Lima, a senior, who is the youngest player in the top six based on playing experience, played another stellar match today. Lucas started a little nervously today and got more confident as his match progressed. His hard work on his serves and groundstrokes over the last few weeks showed up today.

Overall, today's match was very good for us. We missed Harris Breitling as he went to play with the JV team and brought home a win in doubles. Landon Greenwood and Devon French were victorious in their extra match.

Happy and A Safe Spring Break to All!

Go Furies!!!
