North Carolina Western Regional Orchestra
Four FCDS students earn chairs at the North Carolina Western Regional Orchestra.
Freshman Matt Thomas, Sophomores Bailey White and Virgil Wilson, and Junior McLain Wilkinson auditioned for the program on January 23rd at Central Davidson high school outside of Lexington, NC. Bailey and Virgil were selected from a total of over 150 violins that auditioned from around the state for the Repertory orchestra. Matt who plays the double bass and McLain who plays the oboe will represent FCDS in the Honors orchestra. Matt and McLain are the first students to make the Honors orchestra from FCDS. The Western Regional Orchestra festival will be held from February 26- 28, 2010 on the campus of Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.
