FCDS Community – CALL TO ACTION!
Care Packages for American Soldiers

“Hi. I think that most kids think war is easy like in video games when it takes 15 bullets to kill your player and your health recharges. But I have family and friends’ family that are in the war. You guys are the true heroes. Real bullets; no second lives; putting your life on the line for your country. I hope you come back soon and if you have a family that they can have the joy of seeing you alive back from the real war, not some video game.” FCDS Middle School Student
As part of its ongoing commitment to community service, Forsyth Country Day School is privileged to honor American active duty military personnel serving overseas. Currently, there are approximately 150,000 troops who have left behind the familiar comforts of home during deployment. In partnership with the local design and printing firm, Alliance - a Rock Tenn Company, our community has the opportunity to fill 1500 care packages for shipping to these brave Americans in appreciation for the sacrifices they are making.
Thank you for participating in this project. On the back of this page is a list of suggested items from which to choose when filling the box(es) and a list of items that have been donated via Alliance customers for this purpose. Please do not duplicate the latter. Please pack and return the carton(s), unsealed, by Friday, September 12th, to your child’s classroom, the Lower, Middle or Upper school offices, the JAC lobby or bring them to the FCDS All School Tailgate Picnic.
If you have any questions, please contact Meredith Lindel, our Community Service Coordinator, at 945-2134 - x215 or via email (meredithlindel@fcds.org).
Thank you for making a bright spot in one of the days of an American “true hero.”
