Volunteer Opportunities
|
Forsyth Country Day School has a rich tradition of giving back to society through community service. Since it’s founding, members of our student body and faculty have volunteered thousands of hours, both on and off campus. From the smallest making handprint placemats for soup kitchens and walking on behalf of the CROP Walk to the oldest tutoring students and building homes, we are proud of what is accomplished each year.
Current Opportunities:
- Getting new electronics for holiday gifts? Consider donating your working, used products to charity. The battered women's shelter takes used cell phones. Also, we have a great opportunity for using old laptops to create a national network in Honduras to unify all information related to orphanages—medical records, adoption agencies, social workers, etc. For more information, see honduriesta.blogspot.com. If you have any items you will donate, contact Meredith Lindel at the email below.
- Check out Volunteer Connections of Greater Winston-Salem (www.1-800-volunteer.org/1800vol/volunteer-connections) for a list of over 125 local agencies that offer service opportunities.
Projects under way:
- 5th grade collection of funds for scholarships for Monkey River School
