Fine Arts
Mission Statement

Arts education is an essential component of each student’s education. The goal for every FCDS student includes an active engagement and immersion in the arts in order to nurture a lifelong pursuit of creativity and cultural appreciation for the advancement of the total individual.

The Fine Arts Consist of:

• Five Bands
• Eight Choral Groups
• Drama and Musical Theater
• Five Orchestras
• Visual Arts: Drawing, 2D Design, 3D Design, Digital and Traditional Darkroom Photography

Goals of the Fine Arts

• Foster creativity and problem-solving in global circumstances
• Teach how the arts impact daily life and culture
• Provide communication across
  cultures
• Promote self-expression
• Create confidence to critique and
  self-assess one’s work
• Engage in community participation
• Foster team-building and group
  participation through positive
  working relationships
