Lower School
Every Child is a Masterpiece
The Lower School (Junior Pre-Kindergarten through grade 4) builds a foundation of learning skills and familiarity with school life. The basic curriculum includes strong phonetics-based reading, hands-on experiential science, and problem-solving math. Art, music, physical education, computer lab, guidance, and French enrich the program. The atmosphere is nurturing and supportive to meet the intellectual, social, and emotional needs of young children. Classes are taught with developmental expectations in mind; socialization skills are stressed at all levels. Please read the Note from the Director.
Energy and excitement fill the walls of the Lower School! The faculty members are eager to meet and get to know each student. Throughout the halls, you're sure to hear students singing our theme song, "Forsyth Country Day." Beth Frack, one of our LS music teachers, wrote lyrics to the 1970's hit "Montego Bay" by Bobby Bloom. "Oh, we love Forsyth Country Day..." It's going to be a great year!
