Library Lessons and Activities:

Junior Pre-K: Meets weekly on Mondays

We will be reading fun stories, singing songs and getting to know each other while we listen and learn. |
Pre-K:

We will be meeting "Letter People" throughout the year in our classes and reading books in relation to that letter of the week. |
Kindergarten:
Friday |
Farm life is our theme and what a lot we can learn from books about the farm, who lives there and what do they do ... |
First Grade:
Thursday

Using introductions and favorite books, we will meet new friends and authors, learn the difference between fiction and non-fiction, and learn how to choose books that we can enjoy reading ourselves. |
Second Grade:
Tuesdays

This month we will start to learn about the Dewey Decimal System and how it helps us not only keep books in order, but locate books about topics that interest us. There is a fun website we will visit called, "Do we" really know Dewey? |
3rd Grade:
Wednesdays
|
Some of us are working on our ancester projects, which includes researching what country our families came from. We will be designing a doll dressed in the native clothing from our country. Mrs. Nance class is researching Presidents! |
| 4th Grade: |
We are practicing how to find the book or websites we are looking for using computer catalog. We are doing research projects on different authors and NC Lighthouses. |
