Reading Room

The Reading Room in the Lower School Library serves as a comfortable space for individual, group, or whole class reading, lessons, booktalks, and multimedia viewing.

Faculty, if you wish to schedule a whole class or small group (only groups larger than 5 must be scheduled) for library or Reading Room use, please view the library schedule on Outlook and then schedule following Outlook procedures for scheduling resources, or call or email Fontaine Gervasi.

Pre-Kindergarteners listen to duck stories and then watch a video on how ducks grow for “D” week. First graders get cozy while reading some favorite books.

Fourth Grade Book Club

To encourage a lifelong love of reading and learning, the Lower School Library sponsors a 4th grade Book Club, which meets every Monday morning during the second half of the school year. Students enjoy an informal book discussion and occasional special breakfast treats. All 4th graders are invited and encouraged to join, and invitations are distributed January.

We meet every Monday morning from 8:00—8:25 a.m. in the library to discuss books we are reading and to recommend favorite books to each other. We will practice the “art” of book talking and book reviewing. We may even write our own book reviews to post on the library web site! This is not for a grade, just for fun! IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN JOINING US, PLEASE contact Mrs. Gervasi..
