Overview
Art activities in the Pre-Kindergarten classroom are designed to stimulate imagination through creative self-expression. Creative activities include drawing, painting, finger-painting, working with clay, printmaking, and creating papier-mâché objects such as a dinosaur egg. Pre-Kindergarten students develop a sense of respect and appreciation for their own work and that of others.
Objectives
The student will:
A. Recognize and use primary and secondary colors.
B. Recognize and use various types of lines.
C. Recognize different shapes in objects.
D. Recognize the background, middle ground and foreground of artwork.
E. Freely express ideas and feelings on paper.
F. Construct a three dimensional object.
G. Tear or cut paper in free forms.
H. Demonstrate an understanding of differences and similarities in texture.
I. Respect and appreciate their art work as well as others.
