Financial Aid
The MAP financial aid program supports the commitment of the MAP and their Board of Advisers to maintain a student body with a wide range of experiences, talents, interests, and backgrounds. The fundamental goal of the program is to enable qualified students to attend the school who, but for financial aid, could not afford to do so. Financial aid is awarded on the basis of economic need, as determined by the formula devised by the School and Student Service for Financial Aid, as reviewed by the MAP Financial Aid Committee. Once a family’s need is established, no one quality or qualities govern the decision to award aid, although economic status, racial/ethnic background, talents, interests, and standing in the community may be considered.
Students receiving aid are eligible for all of the opportunities and services available to the student community. An admitted student receiving financial aid is held to the same standards of behavior and performance as a student whose parents pay the full cost. Students at any grade level may be considered for financial aid.
The MAP does not discriminate in the administration of its financial aid and admission policies on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, or age in violation of existing state or federal regulations.
The financial aid program at The MAP is need based. If a family has demonstrated need, the School attempts to offset the cost of a child’s education relative to the particular family’s need. Aid decisions are guided by the financial data submitted to the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (“SSS”) and by review of the Director of Admission and Financial Aid.
FINANCIAL AID IS NOT AWARDED ON THE BASIS OF ACADEMIC, ARTISTIC, OR ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE. ALL AID IS NEED BASED.
Interested families may request a Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) from the MAP Director or may complete a PFS online at: https://sss.ets.org/. Upon completion, this form should be mailed directly to the School and Student Service for Financial Aid Office, P.O. Box 6657, Princeton, NJ 08541-6657.
