Scronce led the Blue Rhino organization through explosive growth where now 98% of the United States population can participate in Blue Rhino propane tank exchange. Scronce led a re-branding effort in 2004 that resulted in the re-branding of all Blue Rhino displays nationally and the launch of the first ever national TV and radio advertising campaign for Blue Rhino, the category and the propane industry. This growth was facilitated by the development of an enhanced technology platform that provided visibility across the entire value chain and integrated key tools for the field. Prior to joining Blue Rhino, Scronce served as vice president with GuinnessUDV, a subsidiary of Diageo, PLC, the world’s leading premium drinks business. During that time, Scronce’s responsibilities ranged from leading Diageo’s Canadian operations to development of global sales and trade marketing. In 1997, Scronce led the North American integration of GrandMet and Guinness to form the new company Diageo and followed that assignment with leading the corporate strategy group. During that period, Scronce developed both distribution and portfolio strategies and led both divestitures and acquisitions for Diageo North America. Scronce has also held management positions with Continental Baking Company the maker of Wonder Bread and Hostess Cakes and Frito-Lay, Inc. Scronce is a member of the NCSU Engineering Foundation Board of Directors where he serves on the college relations committee. He is also a member of the campaign cabinet for United Way’s 2005/2006 drive. In addition, Scronce is a member of the Forsyth Country Day School’s Board of Trustees where he serves on the development and strategic planning committees. Scronce holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from North Carolina State University and has an M.B.A. in global management from the University of Phoenix. Scronce currently resides in Winston-Salem, N.C. with his wife and their three children. |
