Rebecca Shore - Director of Fine Arts, FCDS

Rebecca came to Forsyth Country Day School with a professional background as a teacher, administrator, church music director, author, and presenter. She received her master’s degree in educational administration from California State University – Northridge, and her doctorate of education, administration, and policy from the University of Southern California. Rebecca left California in 2000 after serving as principal at Los Alamitos High School. Under her leadership, Los Alamitos was named a three-time National Blue Ribbon, three-time California Distinguished School. Since coming to Winston-Salem, she has worked at both Wake Forest University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro as a lecturer and visiting professor. Along the way, Rebecca has published numerous books, periodicals, monographs, and creative writings. She has received international recognition for her production of the “Bach and Baby” series of CDs and tapes. She has held additional leadership roles throughout her career, including Board of Directors-Smart Start, Teacher Education Program Advisory Council, and chair of many curriculum development committees. She and her husband Marcus, an attorney with RJR, have two children, Leigh and Bobby, both of whom attend FCDS.
