Lu Anne Wood - Director of Admission, FCDS

Lu Anne received a bachelor's degree from Salem College. She was a buyer and assistant manager at Salem Boutique, then buyer and head of couture at Montaldo’s in Winston-Salem. Her extensive community service for the past 25 years includes positions as president of the Junior League of Winston-Salem, Treasurer of the Junior League, Home Moravian Church Board of Trustees, FCDS Board of Trustees (Executive Committee), FCDS Development Committee, FCDS Auction Co-Chair, FCDS Parent Representative, FCDS Community Relations Committee, Winterlark Auction Committee Co-Chair, Salem Academy and College 225th Anniversary Co-Chair, Salem College Alumni Awards Committee, Bethlehem Community Center Board, Easton Elementary Kindergarten volunteer, Salemtowne Retirement Community Capital Campaign Co-Chair, Sunday School teacher for the Three Year class at Home Moravian Church (13 years), Candle Tea Decorating Chair (12 years), Old Salem Garden Club, Amos Cottage Guild, SECCA Friends, and Ronald McDonald House volunteer. Lu Anne and her husband, Jeff, an attorney, have three children: Ben (FCDS '99), currently a third-year student at the WFU Baptist Medical Center; Chris (FCDS '02), a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; and Leslie (FCDS ’04), a sophomore art major at the University of North Carolina. In her spare time (in case there is any!) Lu Anne enjoys oooking, gardening, piano, reading, genealogical research, needlework, and running. She is also a sports enthusiast who is especially fond of ACC basketball.
