Security Initiatives

As our school grows both institutionally and physically, we must also grow in the areas of security and safety. We will strive to continuously meet the following goals:

  • FCDS will strive to provide a safe and secure campus for all students, staff, families and community;
  • FCDS will provide continuing education to faculty, staff and students of all safety and drill procedures to effectively act in the event of an emergency;
  • FCDS will maintain a close working relationship with local law and safety enforcement agencies;
  • FCDS will develop and implement a “state of the art” surveillance system to increase the level of security to the highest degree.

The following campus and staff needs will be necessary to achieve the above goals:

  • Increase surveillance of entrance and exit gates by controlling access during specific hours of operation;
  • Hire trained and certified security officer to patrol campus;
  • Establish a crisis response plan implementing monthly emergency drills and education of evacuation procedures;
  • Upgrade present school-wide communication system using cellular and 2-way radio transmissions;
  • Hire law enforcement officers for athletic, extra-curricular and facilities rental events;
  • Maintain and upgrade present campus lighting and alarm systems and provide additional coverage as campus needs increase (i.e. future buildings and athletic fields, etc.);
  • Implement new web-based system of electronic door locks throughout the campus that will enable us to better control after-hours access to buildings. This will also limit the number of doors through which visitors can enter during the day;
  • Increase and expand the present surveillance camera system with a web based and high-quality digital color system;
    Provide continuing education and certification for the Director of Security.
