International Studies Program

Part of Forsyth Country Day School's Good to Great initiative, the newly formed International Studies Program has begun to grow in the Upper School. Right now, FCDS is home to at least fifteen students of different nationalities, including students from Korea, Thailand, France, and Germany. In addition, for the month of September, four Argentinean students attended classes and lived with Forsyth families as part of an exchange relationship with Northern Hills School in Argentina that we have had for eight years. In 2003, Forsyth Country Day School began a relationship with International Experience, or IE, a company that sends willing schools students from Germany and France for the school year. Forsyth students have also spent summers in France and Spain through Terre des Langues, a program based out of East Carolina University.

In addition to foreign travel opportunities, the International Studies Program will include curricular offerings, opportunities for discussion about international issues, workshops and seminars with local organizations involved in world affairs, and service work involving the international community.

Upcoming travel opportunities include:

  • Month-long study/exchange program in Argentina in March, June, or July, 2004
  • Choral trip to France in June, 2004
  • Terre des Langues experience in France or Spain, July, 2004

Please contact , Director of the International Studies Program, for more information about any of these programs.
