Shirley Hufstedler once said, “The role of the teacher remains the highest call of a free people.” At Forsyth Country Day School, we understand this high calling, and hire only the best to work with our students. Our teachers are constantly learning – perfecting the “art” of teaching as they seek to motivate and empower all students toward academic excellence. Thanks to outstanding teachers, our students acquire knowledge and learn to apply it, practice making wise decisions, and become innovative problem-solvers. Our teachers inspire our students to have vision for the future.

As we look to the future, we are committed to providing not only financial support for our faculty, but also the recognition they deserve. To that end, Forsyth Country Day School is establishing an initiative to endow thirteen Academic Teaching Chairs in the areas listed to the left.

There is no stronger influence on the growth and development of young minds than that of an excellent teacher. May we be known as a school that recognizes and honors exceptional teaching.
Jeremy Goldstein,
6th grade science teacher, received Fulbright Scholarship
Jeremy Goldstein received the official title of Fullbright Memorial Fund Scholar, which took him to Japan from November 17 - December 6 of 2002. He did homestays, toured schools, and participated in dialog with Japanese educators from several different areas. His focus was on Japanese ecology and culture. He developed palm based lessons on writing and gardening.

The Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program (FMF) is designed to provide American primary and secondary school teachers and administrators with opportunities for fully-funded short-term study programs in Japan. Its aim is to increase understanding of Japan among a crucial group of Americans who will be helping to shape and educate the next generation of leaders in this country. The program will provide significant opportunity for professional development of individuals who traditionally do not have such opportunities, as well as strengthen curricula as it increases the level of understanding between Japan and the United States of America.
