Part 1: Profile of the School

In creating a School Profile (profile) as part of the school improvement process, it is clear that an exhaustive effort went into the creation of the document. The report includes student and community demographics, academic performance, student achievement and school programs, as well as data on stakeholder surveys. The result is a report that reflects a school that is changing, growing and one where exciting things are happening. The profile highlights a number of achievement and programs of which the school is clearly proud. After visiting the school, the committee feels that the profile provides an accurate description of the school – much of what is found in the report is evident in the daily life of the school. In fact, this profile represents a strong “working document,” one that can serve as a resource not only in decision-making about school curriculum, but also as a resource in marketing the school.
