Annette is a native of Winston-Salem. She was awarded a basketball scholarship to High Point University, where she was the 9th all time leading scorer, and earned a bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education. While at HPU, she was also awarded the Millis Scholar Athlete Award for outstanding academic achievement. In 1992, she earned a Masters Degree in Health and Physical Education from North Carolina A & T University. Annette has coached cross country, track, volleyball, softball and both men and women's basketball. In 1998; while in Washington D.C. she was voted Women's Basketball Coach of the Year in her conference and Manassas Journal Messenger Women's Basketball Coach of the Year. She also helped lead her softball team to a Virginia State Championship in 1999 as an assistant coach. Annette also coached 2 All-Americans: Chante Black in basketball (Duke University) and Cassie King in cross-country (University of N.C.) Most recently Annette has taught physical education and girls weight lifting at East Forsyth High School, where she also served as assistant varsity basketball coach and assistant softball coach. Annette is married to Mark, an English teacher, basketball coach, and cross-country coach at East Forsyth, and they have two daughters, Gabriella and Haleigh, both of whom attend FCDS. Annette enjoys running, working out and reading psychological thrillers.Favorite quote – "Work as if everything depended on you and pray as if everything depended on God."
