In 1988, Chris earned a bachelor's degree in business communications from Allentown College, now known as DeSales University, and in 1992 he earned a master's degree in athletic administration from Temple University. Chris joined the school after a successful four-year run as the head coach of the women's soccer team at Wake Forest University, where he was named the NCAA Division I Southeast Region Coach of the Year, making him a finalist for the NCAA Division I National Coach of the Year Award.

Prior to coming south to Wake Forest, Chris was the director of intramural and recreational athletics at Philadelphia University, where he was also head softball coach, assistant women's basketball coach, and head coach of the first-ever women's soccer team at Philadelphia University. Chris was responsible for all athletic facilities scheduling and rentals, athletic equipment management, and athletic event support staff. He also started a comprehensive intramural athletic program for more than 1,000 students.

As soccer coach, Chris took the team from a non-funded club team to the scholarship level. Within three seasons, the Lady Rams were ranked nationally in the NCAA Division II.

Since 1997, Chris has been the FCDS Head Boys and Girls Soccer Coach. Over that time, the boys' team has appeared in every state tournament and has been state finalist twice. He has coached 14 All-State players and currently, 9 FCDS soccer alumni are playing in college. For nine years as girls' head coach, Chris has led the team to two state championships and six state semifinal appearances. For his efforts, he has twice been named North Carolina High School Coach of the Year and has earned multiple regional and conference coach of the year awards.

In his spare time, Chris keeps active coaching community soccer clubs and players, but he most enjoys spending time with his wife Sharon and twin daughters Meghan and Lauren, FCDS Class of 2020.
